9. Francis Jeffers (Everton to Arsenal)
Francis Jeffers was considered the final piece in the puzzle for a rampant Arsenal side in 2001, with the Everton forward’s positioning and movement thought to be a vital element of Arsene Wenger’s game plan.
However, Jeffers failed to live up to his ‘fox in the box’ game plan, and was sold by Arsenal after his poor record in front of goal manifested itself.
