3. Andriy Shevchenko (AC Milan to Chelsea)
Andriy Shevchenko arrived at Chelsea from AC Milan for £30.7m as one of the deadliest strikers in football.
He left a shadow of his former self, scoring just 22 times in his 77 appearances for the Stamford Bridge club and with seemingly shattered confidence.
Even a return to his previous club AC Milan where he had flourished just two years before did not bring a return to the goalscoring instincts, and it was only returning to his previous previous club of Dynamo Kiev that Shevchenko displayed something of his old form.
For Chelsea, he was a totally different player.
