Wilfried Zaha – Manchester United to Crystal Palace – £3m
Hit
The young winger was expected to make a splash at Old Trafford, but once he’d learnt that Sir Alex Ferguson – the man who’d signed him – wasn’t going to be there he seemed to be too far out of his comfort zone. His form since the turn of the year has been nothing short of miraculous, and he has finally brought an end product to those little tricks to team up beautifully with Glenn Murray to fire Palace to safety.
Juan Cuadrado – Fiorentina to Chelsea – £27m
Flop
During the World Cup, the Colombian wide man looked unbeatable. Pacey, direct and blessed with the uncanny ability to keep the ball stuck to him like he had glue on his boots, he was destined to finally earn a big money move. And then it came, but he has struggled to adapt to the physicality and restless nature of the Premier League. It may be too early to judge him properly, but he hasn’t made a strong first impression – something that has been made to seen even worse as Mohammed Salah goes from strength to strength with La Viola.
