The youngest manager in the Premier League reveals PSG offer…
Tottenham’s 35-year-old boss Andre-Villas-Boas has admitted turning down an offer from PSG earlier this summer, reports the Telegraph.
PSG recruited Laurent Blanc after Carlo Ancelotti left to join Real Madrid, but AVB has revealed that the huge-spending Parisians were interested in his services.
Spurs finished 5th last term, but fans are pleased with AVB’s style of football, and Tottenham have spent heavily this summer. The north London side have signed Paulinho, Nacer Chadli, Roberto Soldado and Etienne Capoue, and are interested in Liverpool target Willian, too.
Because of Spurs’ exciting project, AVB decided to resist the temptation of unlimited transfer funds and Champions League football.
“I think that can give me an advantage and is something I want to try,” said the young Portuguese manager
“I have been very welcomed. I have an excellent group of players and the conditions and structures we have at Tottenham are fantastic, and the arrival of Franco Baldini takes us to another level so these are things I had to measure.
“I have great respect for the club and for Daniel (Levy) and these are the reasons the couple of clubs that came knocking I told them that I wasn’t interested.”
Spurs kick off their Premier League campaign today away at Crystal Palace, and the Portuguese boss will be hoping for a solid start to his third season in England.
