AVB hopeful that forward will remain at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has hinted that Gareth Bale will sign a new contract and end the ongoing speculation about his future.
Bale has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United after a fabulous season in which the Welshman has claimed the double PFA and Football Writers’ Player of the Year awards.
The 23-year-old has almost single-handedly spearheaded Spurs’ hunt for the Champions League qualification but with the north London outfit in danger of missing out, speculation has mounted that he’ll quit White Hart Lane in the summer.
Villas-Boas, however, moved to dampen the speculation, hinting that Bale may get the new contract he deserves.
“It [a new contract] would be good for him, and I think he deserves it for the season he’s had,” the Portuguese is quoted as saying by the Tottenham Journal.
“Obviously we could put to bed every single speculation that’s coming out. It would be excellent and I think a reward for what he has achieved this season.”
Bale, meanwhile, has hinted that he is ready to stay at Tottenham even if the club fails to finish in the top four of the Premier League.
