Sochaux’s Corchia looks set to leave France in January.
Tottenham Hotspur appear to be the favourites to sign Sochaux right-back Sebastien Corchia after the defender admitted the 22-year-old could be leaving in January, reports the Metro.
However, the Daily Express says that north London rivals Arsenal are also interested in Corchia and will continue their bid to try and sign the full-back.
There appears to be some discrepancy between the interested suitors’ valuation and Sochaux’s, with prices ranging between £5m and £7m.
Yet the media in France say that Ligue 1 big boys Olympique Lyon and Olympique Marseille are also both tracking the under-21 international, with Marseille leading the race according to Le10Sport due to the club’s desperation for a right-back.
The transfer circus surrounding Corchia – who admittedly is one of the brightest talents in French football currently – has reemerged after the defender admitted to be leaving Sochaux in January.
“I can leave Sochaux in January – the club have spoken with interested clubs,” the Frenchman told L’Equipe.
“I prefer to focus on the present at the moment, but leaving in January is a possibility.”
Corchia has been at the player’s current club for two years since making the switch from Le Mans and has been a stalwart in the side ever since, making 77 appearances in all competitions to date.
The full-back’s ability to operate on both the right and left side of defence makes the player an attractive proposition to many teams and Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas sees Corchia as the ideal competitor for Kyle Walker.
