Reports in the Metro claim that Tottenham have been so impressed with the player’s progress so far this season, that they’re pushing to have the deal done as quickly as possible, so that he can go straight into the first-team.
Berahino is rated as one of the best young forwards in the Premier League and has enjoyed a flying start to this season, scoring six goals in all competitions for his club, while also netting for the England Under 21’s in their playoff victory over Croatia.
Tottenham have struggled for goals so far this season, with just nine in their first seven Premier League games. Their top scorer is Nacer Chadli with four, while Eric Dier and Christian Eriksen have two each.
To make matters worse, strikers Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane have only scored four goals between them in all competitions, with just one of those coming in the Premier League.
Berahino, 21, has scored ten league goals in 39 games for West Brom, since making his domestic debut back in 2011. He has also impressed while on international duty, netting ten in twelve for the Under 21’s.
