After a breakout season, Saido Berahino is expected to cash in and join a major contender.
Tottenham Hotspur have big plans for the season and need a big time No. 2 striker to pair with Harry Kane, and they may have found their man in WBA star Saido Berahino.
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are working with West Bromwich Albion to come to a middle ground on a transfer fee for the 22-year-old English striker.
Tottenham have reportedly made an £18 million transfer offer for Berahino, but WBA are seeking £25 million to let him go.
The Spurs are believed to be eager to wrap up a deal for Saido Berahino before the transfer window closes. Tottenham were held scoreless in a Week 1 loss to Manchester United.
Saido Berahino had a breakout season with WBA in the 2014-15 season, scoring a career-high 14 league goals along with an impressive 5 goals in just 4 appearances in the FA Cup tournament. The English scoring machine also has 10 goals in 11 caps for the England Under-21 team and earned England U21 Player of the Year honors in 2014.
