Spurs set to sign Todor Nedelev…
Tottenham’s huge summer in the transfer market looks set to continue with the €6m capture of Bulgarian playmaker Todor Nedelev from Botev Plovdiv, reports Bulgarian news outlet Труд.
The 20-year-old plays in the no.10 position behind a central striker, and is regarded as one of the brightest talents to emerge from Bulgaria in a number of years. Last term he was at his creative best, registering nine goals and 12 assists, which earned him his first caps for the national side.
Overall, Nedelev has scored 15 times in 56 appearances for his Bulgarian home-town club, and reports suggest that he is ready to make the step into a major European league.
Nedelev is composed on the ball, and has a blistering long-range shot on him. What he lacks in defensive capabilities, he makes up for with technique and creativity.
Spurs are reportedly closing in on both Willian and Erik Lamela, both of whom play in a similar position to Nedelev, and the north-London club are seemingly preparing for life after Gareth Bale.
The Welshman is close to sealing a world-record £93m transfer to Real Madrid, with Portuguese left-back Fabio Coentrao heading the other way.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas has already spent nearly £60m on Paulinho, Nacer Chadli, Roberto Soldado and Etienne Capoue, but the Willian, Lamela and Nedelev deals will take spending over the £120m mark.
