Spurs could use Bale money to bid for Liverpool star.
In a one of the more outlandish transfer rumours of the summer, The Metro says Tottenham are ready to hi-jack Arsenal’s bid for Luis Suarez if Gareth Bale completes his mega-money move to Real Madrid.
Arsenal are thought to have had a £40,000,001 bid rejected by Liverpool for the Uruguayan and are yet to return with a second offer.
Bale, meanwhile, is currently the subject of intense media speculation, with various reports claiming Real are ready to make a world-record £85m bid for the 24-year-old Welshman.
Suarez has made no secret of his desire to leave Liverpool, blaming intrusion from the British press and the club’s lack of Champions League football for his unhappiness.
Although, unlike Liverpool, Spurs are in the Europa League, a move to White Hart Lane would not see Suarez playing in UEFA’s leading competition next season, while the Anfield club are said to be extremely reluctant to sell to a Premier League rival.
