Tottenham transfer news
Reports recently linked Spurs with making a summer move for the Algerian international as they continue to struggle to get the best form out of both Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado.
And what began as idle speculation has blossomed into a serious pursuit as Sporting are already in talks to sign a replacement.
West Ham and Leicester were linked with the 26-year-old before the January transfer window, as his 14 goals in 32 appearances caught the eye of a number of teams across Europe. However, it now appears as though Tottenham are in poll position to land his signature.
Spurs already have a good relationship with the Lisbon based giants, having signed young defender Eric Dier over the summer, and they will now be working hard to secure Slimani’s signature over the coming months.
