Sky Sport Italia report that Inter may be willing to listen to higher offers.
Tottenham have reportedly had a €20m bid rejected by Inter for midfielder Fredy Guarin, according to Sky Sport Italia.
Spurs have shown an interest in the Colombian star this summer, with boss Andre Villas-Boas said to be a big fan of his qualities on the pitch.
After a disappointing season with Inter in which the club finished ninth in Serie A, it had been suggested that they would listen to offers for their creative midfielder,
However, owner Massimo Moratti has since ruled out the possibility of him leaving stating that he expects the 27-year-old to play a major role in the coming years as the Nerazzurri look to rebuild under new boss Walter Mazzarri.
Nevertheless, the latest rumours, as reported by football-italia.net, suggest that Spurs are ready to test Moratti’s resolve on the matter, and will likely come back with an improved offer while some have suggested Inter will hope the initial offer sparks a bidding war to increase the Colombian’s value.
Guarin arrived at San Siro back in January 2012 in an initial loan deal from Porto before the club made his move permanent in May of last year.
It is uncertain at this stage as to whether there has been an official bid, with no word from either party confirming that there are any negotiations.
However, based on Moratti’s comments on Tuesday it would appear that the club are not interested in selling one of their more consistent performers from last season.
