White Hart Lane a more likely destination than Anfield for Gerard Deulofeu.
Tottenham are leading Liverpool in the chase for Barcelona youngster Gerard Deulofeu, according to Catalan daily Sport.
Barca are willing to send the highly-rated 19-year-old on loan for a season and both Spurs and Liverpool are keen on his services.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers tried to sign Deulofeu permanently last summer but Barca rate the forward as one of the best prospects to come through their famous La Masia academy in recent years and told the Northern Irishman he was not for sale.
But the Catalans want the young forward to develop his game with regular first team football and play in Europe next season, something Spurs can offer via the Europa League.
The Spaniards also rate Andre Villas-Boas as a coach and believe the Portuguese will utilise Deulofeu on the wing in a 4-3-3 system, which will be crucial development ahead of a career at the Nou Camp.
Liverpool, however, remain in the hunt and new signing Luis Alberto is a close friend of the youngster, which could prove pivotal.
Barca will also consider allowing Deulofeu to remain in Spain but are yet to receive an offer from a La Liga club.
Deulofeu, who scored 18 goals in 31 appearances for Barcelona B last season, is currently away on international duty with the Spain’s under-20s
