Luigi insists he is not talking to any clubs over Brazil star.
Internacional president Giovanni Luigi says he is not in talks with any club about Tottenham target Leandro Damiao.
The Brazilian has long been linked with a move to White Hart Lane and the north London outfit reportedly came close to landing the striker in January.
Napoli and Marseille are also thought to be keen on Damiao, 23, but Luigi hinted last month that a move to Spurs was the most likely outcome for the Selecao international.
Luigi was in London last week to watch the Champions League final at Wembley but has stressed he is not in talks with any club over Damiao.
“No club contacted me. I was there [in Europe] alone,” Luigi is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“I went to the [Wembley] stadium to watch the game. But I didn’t talk with anybody regarding the player.”
Luigi did admit that he was expecting offers – but did not know if Tottenham would reignite their interest in the forward.
“It’s possible that an offer happens, but I don’t know if it will be from Tottenham,” he said.
“The player has been called up again, will play the Confederations Cup and is wanted [by many clubs].”
