Midlands giants are desperate to keep hold of their Belgium forward this summer.
Premier League strugglers Aston Villa are determined not to allow red-hot front man Christian Benteke to leave Villa Park the end of the season, says the Sun.
The young Belgium international has been one of the undoubted finds of this campaign since arriving in the Midlands from Belgium first division outfit Genk for just £7 million as a virtual unknown last summer
And the exciting 22-year-old has hit an eye-catching 18 goals in only 22 top-flight appearances for Paul Lambert’s relegation-threatened side, as well as 22 strikes overall in 37 matches in all competitions, to catch the attentions of a whole host of big-name Premier League clubs.
Those interested suitors include the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, however, whether any of those sides would be prepared to meet Villa’s reported £30 million valuation of a player whose contract at Villa Park runs until 2016 very much remains to be seen.
