Spurs hopeful of concluding a deal for striker after having an offer rejected in January.
Tottenham Hotspur have moved a step closer to finally sealing a deal to sign coveted Internacional striker Leandro Damiao this summer, according to reports in the Daily Express.
The north London club have been chasing the talented Brazil international for some time now, and were on the verge of bringing the player to White Hart Lane for a fee of £16 million in the recent January transfer window, only for the move to fall through at the very last minute.
However, Tottenham have since returned with an improved offer for the 23-year-old’s services which they feel confident will be accepted this time by his employers, with Damiao expected to complete his move to the capital soon after the summer transfer window finally reopens for business on July 1.
Damiao has been with Internacional for his entire career, scoring 82 goals in just 147 appearances in all competitions for the club since 2010.
