North London club have been tracking French-based marksman for some time now.
Tottenham Hotspur have been put on alert by the news that long-term attacking target Lisandro Lopez is set to leave Ligue 1 giants Lyon at the end of the season, says the Metro.
The some-time Argentina international has been with the French club for the past four years, having signed from FC Porto for €24 million but the striker has been in and out of the team under Lyon head coach Remi Garde.
The 30-year-old centre forward has appeared in 26 Ligue 1 matches so far this campaign, finding the back of the net on ten occasions and with a contract at the Stade Gerland that expires next May, it is expected that Tottenham may be able to get the player for as little as £12m.
And, that would be quite some steal for the North London club, especially when one considers the attacker’s overall record in front of goal during his four years in France, where he has netted an impressive 79 strikes in 156 appearances.
Spurs currently boast just two senior forwards at White Hart Lane but Jermain Defoe has found the net just one since Boxing Day, while Emmanuel Adeabyor has scored three times in the Premier League all season.
