Spurs want more mobility in the centre of the park next season.
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Andre Villas-Boas is prepared to let veteran midfield player Scott Parker leave White Hart Lane this summer, reports the Metro.
The England international has been in north London for the past two seasons now, having originally signed for Tottenham from London rivals West Ham United for £5.5 million in Aug 2011.
And in the intervening two-year period, the 32-year-old has proved himself to be a regular at the heart of the club’s midfield, featuring in 62 matches in all competitions for the Londoners, including 49 in the Premier League, although Parker is still to find the back of the net for his club during that time.
However, Villas-Boas has decided that Parker is now surplus to requirements at the Lane as he aims to rebuild his squad with a view of making it into the top four of the Premier League next season, and with it gain entry into the Uefa Champions League.
