North London club are desperate to add more quality to their midfield for next campaign.
Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign exciting young FC Barcelona midfield player Sergi Roberto at the end of the season, according to reports in the Metro.
The Spain Under-21 international has been with the Catalan giants his whole career, playing over 100 games for Barcelona B in the last four years, but the 21-year-old has made just the three appearances for the first team since making his Barca debut in 2011.
However, it is understood that the creative midfielder is at not happy with his current situation at Camp Nou, with the likes of Spain internationals and world and European Championship winners Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Cesc Fabregas and Sergio Busquets all presently blocking his path to the first team.
As a result, Roberto is believed to want to try his luck out elsewhere next season, despite being contracted to Barcelona until 2015, with the north London club said to be confident of tying up a deal for the player for as little as £7 million.
