Christian Eriksen – 7
The Danish international was, quite rightly, named as Tottenham’s player of the season yesterday. He failed to hit top form today, but his presence alone upset the Villa defence and created ample attacking space for Rose and Naughton.
Harry Kane – 7
Kane has formed a very good understanding with Adebayor and the pair’s link-up play was superb. The youngster looked full of confidence, but his finishing isn’t quite Premier League standard.
Emmanuel Adebayor – 8
Held the ball up brilliantly and really seemed to enjoy playing alongside another big forward in Kane. Adebayor frequently came short and looked to instigate attacks from deep positions.
Subs:
Milos Veljkovic – 6
Made his second senior appearance for Spurs when he replaced Sandro just after the hour. Didn’t seem fazed by the physicality of the game and retained possession well.
Nabil Bentaleb – 6
The game had stagnated by the time Bentaleb came on for Paulinho on 75 minutes. The 19-year-old merely went through the motions, but he didn’t look at all out of place.
Alex Pritchard – 6
The 21-year-old, back at White Hart Lane after enjoying an excellent season on loan at Swindon Town, was keen to make an impression when he came on for the final seven minutes. He did plenty of running, but only got on the ball once, making a simple pass that found a teammate.
