Spurs hope to beat Reds in race to sign 25-goal striker.
Tottenham Hotspur are readying an £18m bid for Swansea City frontman Wilfried Bony, according to the Daily Mail.
Bony has been identified by Liverpool as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez, who will complete his move to Barcelona for a fee in the region of £75m next week.
However, Tottenham have been keen on the 25-year-old for some time and they will not give up on him without a fight.
Bony has moved up Tottenham’s list of targets after the White Hart Lane club were rebuffed in their attempts to land Chelsea and Belgium star Romelu Lukaku.
Ivory Coast international Bony enjoyed an excellent debut season with Swansea following his £12m arrival from Vitesse last summer.
He scored 25 goals in all competitions for the Swans.
Bony netted 16 times and provided four assists in 34 Premier League games.
He won 105 aerial duels in England’s top flight, completing 611 passes and winning 47 free-kicks.
