North Londoners keen to add more experience to the centre of the park next season.
Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a surprise £4 million summer swoop for unwanted Manchester City midfield player Gareth Barry as a potential replacement for Scott Parker in the Spurs engine room, according to exclusive reports in the Daily Express.
The experienced England international has been at Eastlands for the past four seasons now, having originally signed for the mega-rich Premier League outfit from Aston Villa for only £12 million on a five-year deal in June 2009.
And in the intervening four-year period the 32-year-old has been a regular in the City midfield, featuring in 175 matches in all competitions for the club during that time, scoring eight times, including six goals in his 132 Premier League appearances.
However, it is understood that incoming City head coach Manuel Pellegrini will be looking to bring in his own players when he finally takes over in the north west, with Tottenham seeing Barry as an ideal replacement for fellow holding midfield player Parker.
