Martinez is one of the most highly rated strikers in continental football and his prolific goalscoring record at the Estadio Dragao certainly bears that out – with the Colombian now reportedly keen to prove his mettle in one of Europe’s major leagues.
Liverpool are also believed to be interested in Martinez, with the Reds having shown little attacking threat through the fit strikers currently at the club, although it would be a surprise if Brendan Rodgers had as much as £30m available following the transfer chaos of the summer window.
