9. Darren Anderton
Widely known as “Sicknote”, Anderton’s spell at White Hart Lane was hampered a catalogue of injuries but the attacking midfielder still managed 364 appearances for Spurs in 12 seasons. When fit, the floppy-haired playmaker was a technically gifted player, with a superb stamina and an excellent turn of pace.
Away from Spurs, Anderton had a knack of finding fitness just in time for major international tournaments and was one of England’s stand-out players in a wing-back role at France ’98.
