Erik Lamela
Paraguay vs ARGENTINA
Argentina’s place at Brazil 2014 is all but guaranteed, with Alejandro Sabella’s side currently top of the South American qualifying group. But, in the absence of hosts Brazil, Lionel Messi and co. will be desperate to finish as the best team on the Continent. A trip to Paraguay, who can no longer qualify, should provide the perfect opportunity to pull away from second placed Colombia, who face a tricky trip to Uruguay.
Lamela, 21, will be hoping to win his fourth cap against familiar opposition; the winger made his international debut against Paraguay in a friendly in May 2011 but is likely to start on the bench on Tuesday.
Roberto Soldado
SPAIN vs Chile
World Champions Spain are not in World Cup qualifying action but face a friendly with Chile in Madrid. With a place at Brazil 2014 increasingly looking a certainly, the clash gives boss Vicente del Bosque the chance to experiment, which could see Spurs striker Soldado win a twelfth cap.
The Spaniard has started his Spurs career brightly, with two goals from the penalty spot but a decent performance internationally would boost the 28-year-old’s confidence ahead of the resumption of Premier League action at the weekend.
