There were eight Tottenham players in international action on Tuesday night.
Kyle Walker
Ukraine 0-0 ENGLAND
Kyle Walker played 90 minutes as England laboured to a dismal 0-0 draw with Ukraine in Kiev, which keeps World Cup qualification in the Three Lions’ hands. The right back was given a torrid time by Ukraine’s speedy winger Yevhen Konoplyanka and Walker was panned by ITV’s critics during the half time interval.
The 23-year-old seemed aware that it hadn’t been his finest game, however, tweeting:
Hard fought draw last night, still undefeated and qualification now in our own hands. Pleased the manager has put his faith in me again…

…I’m learning more every time I play international football and I hope it’ll make me a better player for club and country

Andros Townsend will have to wait for his international debut after being left on the bench (despite Ashley Young’s inexplicable, and frankly terrible, cameo), while Jermain Defoe was also an unused substitute.
Christian Eriksen
Armenia 0-1 DENMARK
Christian Eriksen played his part as Denmark cranked up the pressure on second placed Bulgaria with a 1-0 win over the inconsistent Armenia. The playmaker, who is yet to make his debut for Spurs, had a couple of decent efforts saved either side of the break, before Liverpool’s Daniel Agger sealed victory from the penalty spot.
In a fairly drab affair, one of the best moments was this terrible attempt at a short corner from the home side:
