Napoli striker Jose Callejon has been lights out the past two seasons. Can he continue his scoring success in the Premier League?
In a heated bidding war for Jose Callejon that already features Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, a fourth contender has entered the fray seeking his transfer.
According to the Metro, Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race for the 28-year-old Spanish forward/winger. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino reportedly believes that it would take “a significant offer” to make Napoli give up their prized scoring genius. However, the Metro reported that the newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport considers the Spurs the favorites to land Callejon in a transfer.
Chelsea have been one of the other highly-rated teams with a shot at Callejon after reportedly making a £15.5 million offer. Liverpool and Arsenal have also been linked to a move for the Napoli star.
Callejon first broke out with Real Madrid B in 2007 with 21 goals in just 37 appearances. But five seasons with Espanyol and Real Madrid as a winger made it seem that Callejon had lost his scoring edge. But after joining Napoli for €10 million in 2013, Callejon had a resurgence as a scorer with 26 league goals and 32 total goals in his last two seasons.
