Villas-Boas has been and watched Traore.
During the current international break, Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas took time out to watch Barcelona B take on Deportivo La Coruna.
The Portuguese coach has admitted that Adama Traore – Barca’s latest hot prospect – is a star that greatly interests the 35-year-old, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
Traore is a Spanish winger of Malian descent who is unlikely to be sold by the Catalans due to the promise the youngster is showing.
Villas-Boas also answered questions on world record signing Gareth Bale and whether the boss would be leaving White Hart Lane for Spain.
“I am very focussed on Tottenham,” was the reply from the manager, something that is sure to please Spurs fans.
Whilst on Bale the simple response was; “I cannot talk about Bale, as he is not my player.”
Tottenham have started the season well under AVB once again, looking to build on their best ever Premier League points tally last term with a top four finish this time around.
Chairman Daniel Levy certainly put faith in the manager, letting over £100m be spent on new players this summer, with the club’s record transfer fee being broken three times – of course greatly helped by the £85.3m received for Bale.
There is certainly a lot of optimism surrounding Spurs currently, but there is still the niggling problem that a big European club will try and poach their talented boss.
In recent times Paris Saint-Germain have seemed the most likely, but as it is Villas-Boas is committed to the Lily Whites.
