The Spurs boss could still make the switch to the French capital.
After months of trying to find a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti, Paris Saint-Germain eventually plumped for Laurent Blanc on a one-year deal.
However, Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that the 35-year-old has good relationship with the PSG owner, did receive an offer from the club and finds the Parisians to be an attractive prospect.
“PSG? I have a very good relationship with chairman Nasser al-Khelaifi, I talk regularly with him,” Villas-Boas was quoted by Sky Sports.
“With Nasser we have mutual respect. The fact PSG contacted me was known but I wanted to stay a second season at Tottenham, building on the job I did last season and spending two seasons in the same club for the first time in my career.
“I was attracted by the PSG project, indeed I believe PSG is attractive.
“Considering the last two years of investments at PSG, the ambition is to win the Champions League, our ambition is be in it.”
With Blanc only spending 12 months with the Ligue 1 champions these comments from AVB could make Spurs fans a little worried.
If Tottenham fail to make the Champions League again this season then the boss may well be interested in PSG’s approaches once more.
However, with the north London side sanctioning £107m to be spent on new players this summer – including breaking the club’s record transfer fee three times – Villas-Boas owes a certain amount of loyalty to the hierarchy at White Hart Lane.
Yet it wouldn’t be totally surprising to see the former FC Porto and Chelsea manager making the trip to Paris come the end of the 2013/14 campaign.
