Luka Modric’s recent comments urging Gareth Bale to join him at Real Madrid were not received kindly by the Tottenham manager.
According to The Sun, Andre Villas-Boas has told the Croatian playmaker to focus on his own club’s situation ahead of their derby against Atletico Madrid this coming weekend. The Merengues are currently struggling in La Liga and Mourinho’s men are under pressure to produce a positive result this weekend against their high-flying rivals.
AVB added that Bale’s departure was “completely impossible”.The news serves to at least temporarily silence constant recent reports surrounding Bale’s departure from White Hart Lane, as he has been linked with various clubs over the last 2 years.
Tottenham played Fulham this weekend in the Premier League at Craven Cottage and Bale had an eventful match.
The Wales international star was booked for diving before going off injured with a hamstring complaint.
It will be interesting to see how Spurs perform in the absence of their best player – should any future sale happen.
