Pochettino is set to become the latest in a long line of Tottenham managers to take to the touchline alongside Wenger, with no Spurs manager in the last two decades yet having been able to emulate Wenger’s success at the Emirates Stadium.
The Argentine has had a mixed start to life as manager at White Hart Lane, with successive home defeats to Liverpool and West Brom in the Premier League dampening spirits somewhat, but he still hopes that he is able to emulate the success of a man that he has great respect for:
“I have full respect for him — he is a great manager. An 18-year stay in charge is not easy. Tottenham is a big job and it’s a dream to stay here like Arsene at Arsenal. I need to show my skill, work hard and get results.”
