Tottenham are plotting a move to bring West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino to the club this summer, according to reports.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to bolster his attack ahead of the new season, and The Mirror reports he will turn his full attention into signing the England U-21 international.
Tottenham’s north London rivals Arsenal are also believed to be keen in Berahino, however Pochettino is reportedly desperate to pair the striker with Spurs ace Harry Kane next season.
According to the report, the Baggies are aware of Tottenham’s interest and are attempting to lock the 21-year-old down to the club with a new contract.
It is understood Tottenham would have to cough up at least £15m for the player, who is currently on a £15k-a-week deal with West Brom.
Tottenham can without doubt offer Berahino a much-improved wage deal, but it remains to be seen if West Brom play hard ball over one of its most prized assets.
