William Gallas
The veteran Frenchman is out of contract in the summer and Villas-Boas has already hinted that the 35-year-old mercenary will be allowed to leave. The experienced Gallas started the season as first choice centre-half at White Hart Lane but was forced out of the side by injuries and the reborn Michael Dawson. Retirement or a final-pay in the Middle East beckons.
David Bentley
Oh David, where did it all go wrong? The ‘next David Beckham’ arrived at Spurs to much fanfare in 2008 and remains the club’s record signing (gross, isn’t it?). Just 42 league appearances and loans at West Ham, Birmingham City, FC Rostov and his former club Blackburn Rovers later, and Bentley is a shadow of his former cocky self. At 28, it is perhaps premature to declare the greasy-haired right winger finished at the top level but it’ll take a hell of a lot of work for Bentley to return to the top. Spurs are desperate for a buyer and will listen to any offers.
