CM: Eric Dier – 7/10
One of Tottenham’s only fit central midfielders was rushed off with 14 minutes to go after taking a knock on his ankle, having produced another reliable display protecting his back four.
CM: Tom Carroll – 7/10
Always available to collect the ball. Was a bit pedestrian with it in the opening 25 minutes, but gradually used it more progressively as he started attacks from deep and sometimes joined in with them.
AMC: Dele Alli – 9/10
The 19-year-old was the class act on show at White Hart Lane. He showed magnificent feet and calmness to supply Son’s second, and was at the heart of most good things that Tottenham did.
AMR: Andros Townsend – 5/10
Making his first start of the season, the England international was disappointing. His decision making in the final third was very poor and he was replaced by summer signing Clinton N’Jie on 65 minutes.
AML: Erik Lamela – 6/10
For 86 minutes it looked destined not to be the Argentine’s night. A poor touch saw him pass up a great first-half chance, and he hit the post when one-on-one. But he was rewarded for his perseverance with the third goal, showing admirable composure after his previous misses to score a delicate chip.
