How we think Spurs will start in the midst of an injury crisis.
It’s a top 10 clash in the Premier League as Tottenham Hotspur host Southampton at White Hart Lane in the first kickoff of the day.
It’s been a difficult week for Spurs, as after losing at home to Arsenal in north London derby last weekend they were then eliminated from the Europa League by Benfica on Thursday.
That’s not the only concern for manager Tim Sherwood either as a spate of injuries has overcome his squad and therefore selecting a starting XI could be hard.
So here is how fanatix thinks Tottenham will lineup against the Saints.
GK – Brad Friedel
Hugo Lloris was forced to miss the midweek trip to Lisbon and Sherwood has suggested that the Frenchman will not be back for this clash at the Lane.
RB – Kyle Naughton
In the absence of Kyle Walker his namesake is likely to continue on the right side of defence, despite having failed to truly impress this season.
CB – Younes Kaboul
Central defence was a real problem area for Spurs against Benfica due to injury and suspension, but after missing out at the Estadio da Luz, Kaboul should be brought back in.
CB – Jan Vertonghen
The Belgium international was suspended for the Europa League exit and as one of the side’s best players of recent times is certain to be drafted back in.
LB – Danny Rose
It’s been a slightly disappointing campaign for the Englishman as fitness concerns have interrupted his strong progress to date, but should still start this game ahead of Zeki Fryers.
