Spurs beat Palace at Selhurst Park…
Tottenham have record £26m Spanish signing Roberto Soldado to thank for an opening weekend Premier League victory away at Crystal Palace.
The powerful striker bagged from the spot in the 50th minute, after Aaron Lennon’s cross was handled by Palace defender Dean Moxley. Spurs were the better side all afternoon, and deserved their victory, although Kagisho Dikgacoi almost bagged an equaliser at the death.
Real Madrid target Gareth Bale wasn’t selected due to injury, and Tottenham may have to get used to playing without their Welsh wing-wizard.
Nevertheless, fans will be excited to see Soldado up and running, and will hoping his goals can fire Spurs into the top four.
