Tottenham Hotspur are believed to have agreed a fee with Atletico Madrid for Toby Alderweireld.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was in Spain yesterday to conclude negotiations over the Belgian international, who spent last season on loan at Southampton.

The Saints had hoped to secure Alderweireld’s services on a permanent basis, while the 24-year-old had also been linked with Premier League champions Chelsea.
But The Metro cites reports from Italy claiming that Tottenham have had an £11.4m bid accepted for the versatile defender, and that only a medical separates him from a move to White Hart Lane.
Atletico had an agreement in place with Southampton to sell Alderweireld to them for £6.8m this summer, but bought out that clause to open up the bidding and get the best possible price.
Alderweireld appears poised to partner compatriot and former Ajax teammate Jan Vertonghen at Spurs next season.
