Tottenham are set to launch a bid for AC Milan star Keisuke Honda, according to reports.
The Japanese international has struggled to make an impact with the Serie A giants since making joining the club in 2013 from Russian side CSKA Moscow.
According to Metro [via Tuttosport], AC Milan are happy to allow the 29-year-old to leave the club after he requested a transfer after growing increasingly frustrated during his time at the San Siro.
The report suggests Honda’s stance has triggered the interest of Mauricio Pochettino, who is looking to add depth to his midfield stocks ahead of the new Premier League season.
Everton are also understood to be keen on technically gifted attacking midfielder, however Spurs have previously been linked with Honda are believed to be in pole position to snare the player’s signature.
Honda has made 43 Serie A appearances for the Rossoneri, scoring seven goals.
The former VVV-Venlo man remains a key player for the Japanese national team and has so far earned 73 caps for the Asian giants.
