David Bentley and William Gallas leave White Hart Lane.
Tottenham have begun clearing the decks ahead of a pivotal summer by releasing out-of-contract duo David Bentley and William Gallas, the Premier League have confirmed.
Midfielder Bentley has not made a league appearance for Spurs for over two years and the 28-year-old, who cost the club £16.5m from Blackburn in 2008, spent the second half of this season on loan back at Ewood Park.
The seven-cap ex-England international has also spent time on loan at Birmingham City, West Ham and Russian outfit FC Rostov in the past three seasons, after falling out of favour at White Hart Lane under former boss Harry Redknapp.
Former France international Gallas, 35, made 24 appearances for Spurs this season but a series of niggling injuries ruled him out of the run-in and the former Arsenal and Chelsea star has played just 12 minutes of Premier League football in 2013.
The north London outfit have also released John Bostock, 21. The attacking midfielder arrived from Crystal Palace to much fanfare in 2008 but has managed just three senior appearances for Spurs.
