Classic Germany: It turns out Lars Bender has a twin brother named Sven. Which brother is the evil one?
Tottenham Hotspur are searching eagerly for an elite talent to join Harry Kane and have found a trio of German stars who may fit the bill.
According to the Express, Tottenham have begun targeting Borussia Dortmund defensive midfielder Sven Bender, Stuttgart forward Timo Werner and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Christoph Kramer.
The 19-year-old Werner had just three goals in the 2014-15 season – mostly as a substitute – but he owns the distinction of being the youngest player in Bundesliga history to record two goals in a match. The Express reported that Werner is valued at around £10 million.
The 24-year-old Kramer has 10 caps for the German national team and was a member of the 2014 FIFA World Cup squad. He has spent the last two seasons on loan to Borussia Monchengladbach but has earned high marks with the club.
Tottenham will face an uphill battle for Bender in particular as the twin brother of Lars Bender is reportedly being targeted by Arsenal with a £22 million bid made by the club earlier this summer. Barcelona were also interested at one point before turning their sights towards Arda Turan.
