Spurs target could face Livorno, suggesting move remains some way off.
Tottenham target Erik Lamela has been included in the Roma squad for the Giallorossi’s clash at Livorno on Sunday.
Several newspapers, including the Guardian, have claimed that a £30m deal to take Lamela, 21, to White Hart Lane is close to be finalised but the Argentine’s possible participation at Armando Picchi suggests the move is not as close as reported.
Lamela’s father and agent were said to be in London this week for talks with Spurs’ sporting director Franco Baldini, who shares a good relationship with the player and his representatives, having brought the youngster to Rome from River Plate in 2011.
The highly-rated winger scored 15 goals in 33 Serie A appearances last term and Spurs are desperate to complete the deal after Chelsea hijacked their move for Willian at the eleventh hour.
