Spurs tell Premier League rivals Bale will cost a ludicrous £125m…
Tottenham have told Manchester United if they want to sign brilliant Welsh winger Gareth Bale, he will cost them a whopping £125m, reports the Sun.
The Premier League champions have joined the race for the soon to be world’s most expensive player, although Real Madrid are close to sealing their own £86m deal.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy doesn’t want to sell to a team in the same league – so would dramatically hike the price if the Red Devils were serious about snapping up the Premier League Player of the Year.
Real Madrid have irritated Spurs with their handling of arguably the summer’s biggest transfer saga – and even set up a stage in the Bernabeu for Bale’s presentation before a deal was agreed.
United boss David Moyes wants to take advatage of this fallout between Madrid and Spurs, and has refused to deny his interest in the flyer.
“The owners have given me every opportunity to bring in whoever I want. So we will continue to try and find those players,” said the Scottish boss – whose United side drew 0-0 with title rivals Chelsea last night.
“I said when I got the job that Manchester United will always be interested in the best players and we’re always looking to improve the team.
“It’s been tough in this window but we’re always looking at the best players. I can’t say any more.”
