Tottenham are set to launch a bid to lure Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin to White Hart Lane, according to reports.
Austin scored 18 goals in the Premier League last season but it wasn’t enough to stop QPR from being relegated from England’s top-tier, and now a host of club’s are interested in the England international’s services.
Newcastle and West Ham are said to be keen in the 26-year-old, however, The Mirror reports that London giants Tottenham are keen to match QPR’s £15m valuation of the striker.
Tottenham are expected to offload Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado before the end of the transfer window, and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to find a strike partner for Harry Kane.
Austin will surely have to make a Premier League move if he has any chance of being selected in Roy Hodgson’s EURO 2016 squad, and a move to Tottenham has the potential to make him an England regular.
