Spurs are interested in Eto’o.
Former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o could be making an immediate return to the Premier League as Tottenham Hotspur look to sign the 33-year-old, according to the Sun.
The Cameroon international left Stamford Bridge after just one season this summer when his contract expired and West Ham United have also shown interest in the forward.
Yet Eto’o is keen to continue playing European football and with Spurs featuring in the Europa League in 2014/15 they would meet his requirements.
The African is also a friend of current Tottenham star Emmanuel Adebayor, who is looking to convince the attacker to join him at White Hart Lane.
The North Londoners are on the lookout for support in the final third with Adebayor, Roberto Soldado and youngster Harry Kane the only options currently.
Former targets Romelu Lukaku and Loic Remy have both bypassed the club and now Eto’o is looking like the ideal acquisition.
The Cameroonian is also understood to have been a big fan of Mauricio Pochettino’s style at Southampton and would be keen to work under the guidance of the Argentine.
Eto’o had a solid, if unremarkable, first year in English football with the Blues, scoring 12 goals in 35 matches in all competitions.
