Tottenham Hotspur could be set to join the running to sign unsettled Chelsea striker Fernando Torres after he was left out of Jose Mourinho’s squad to face Leicester City on Saturday, according to CaughtOffside.
The north London side have been in the market for a new signing upfront for much of the summer after some poor form from Roberto Soldado last season, and they have now been alerted to Torres’ potential availability.
AC Milan are also being linked with the Spaniard as a replacement for the Liverpool-bound Mario Balotelli, but the player may opt to remain in England after a long career in the Premier League.
Once regarded as one of the best strikers in the world during his time with former club Liverpool, Torres could prove a hit at White Hart Lane if he regains his best form, though Chelsea will likely try to sell him abroad if possible.
