AVB wants compatriot to join him at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas will again target Porto playmaker Joao Moutinho this summer, reports The Sun.
Spurs tried to sign the 26-year-old Portugal international last August but their deadline day move broke down at the eleventh hour.
After missing out on Champions League football by a whisker, Villas-Boas will embark on a major rebuilding exercise at White Hart Lane this summer and the Porto pass-master is his top target.
The Spurs head-coach worked with Moutinho at Porto and the player is understood to be keen to be reunited with his former mentor.
But the Primiera Liga Champions value Moutinho at close to £30m, meaning Spurs would have to nearly double their record transfer fee – the £16.5m they paid Blackburn for David Bentley in 2008.
After selling Luka Modric and Rafa van der Vaart last summer, Spurs have struggled for creativity in the middle of the park this term, leading to just 29 home goals all season.
