The players that could be in and out of White Hart Lane at the end of the season.
As the Premier League season quickly draws to a close it’s been something of a disappointment in reality for Tottenham Hotspur.
After finishing just a point off the Champions League places in 2012/13 it was expected that the north Londoners would kick on this term and chase the top four.
Of course the world record transfer of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid was always going to be a void that was difficult to fill for Spurs, but over £100m on new players looked to have done that.
However, expensive signings such as Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado have failed to live up to their price-tags and unadventurous and poor football from the team eventually cost manager Andre Villas-Boas his job in December 2013.
Since then Tim Sherwood’s appointment has been interesting, with some positive results being tainted by heavy defeats to the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
Tottenham certainly need to improve this summer and here are five players we expect to be sold and five to be bought in to do just that.

Out
Jan Vertonghen
Last year this Belgian was named in the PFA Team of the Year and as such has a certain amount of pedigree and needs to be playing top level football.
Unfortunately without being in the Champions League the chance of Vertonghen staying in north London becomes increasingly slimmer, with Liverpool looking to poach the 26-year-old.
