The north Londoners want to take Nani on-loan.
Manchester United winger Nani has been linked with a switch to Inter Milan in the past few days, but Tottenham Hotspur are going to make a last ditch bid, reports ITV.
The Portugal international is not in manager David Moyes’ plans at Old Trafford and Spurs want to take the 27-year-old on-loan until the end of the season.
Nani has plenty of Premier League experience having played for the Red Devils since 2007, after a £17.3m transfer from Sporting Lisbon.
The attacking midfielder was expected to follow in the footsteps of national team-mate and another Sporting star Cristiano Ronaldo – although those boots were understandably too big to fill.
Since that move from the Portuguese capital Nani has played 226 matches for the Red Devils, scoring 40 goals and providing 73 assists and winning the league four times and the Champions League.
However, with Shinji Kagawa, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young all ahead of the Portuguese ace for a place on the wing, it may be the right time to move on.
This has been exacerbated by the £37.1m arrival of Juan Mata from Chelsea and the fact that Anderson – who was signed by United at the same time as Nani – has recently left the club.
Tottenham meanwhile are looking for support out wide as new signings Nacer Chadli and Erik Lamela have failed to impress at White Hart Lane.
New boss Tim Sherwood also seems reluctant to play England international Andros Townsend as well and Nani is sure to get more game time in north London.
