Lille forward Kalou is a target for the north Londoners.
Former Chelsea forward and Lille star Salomon Kalou has emerged as a £2.6m transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur in the January window, according to the Daily Mail.
After sanctioning the sale of striker Jermain Defoe to FC Toronto in February, Spurs are in need of some support in attack and view Kalou as the ideal solution.
The 28-year-old spent six years in England previously with the Blues, playing 254 games in all competitions and scoring 60 goals and providing 44 assists.
During that time Kalou won the Premier League title, the Champions League and the FA Cup four times.
Since departing Stamford Bridge for Lille the Ivory Coast international has enjoyed a successful stint, scoring 24 goals in 58 games and has eight strikes from 21 matches this term.
With the ability to play as a striker or on the flanks Kalou is a useful versatility player and someone that could add some attacking depth to the Tottenham squad.
Since taking over as manager Tim Sherwood has started an overhaul of the team at White Hart Lane, reinstating Emmanuel Adebayor into the starting XI and pinpointing stars that need to be sold.
Etienne Capoue and Nacer Chadli have both been linked with moves away despite only arriving in the summer, but it’s the departure of Defoe that will leave the biggest gap.
When the England international leaves, only Adebayor, Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane will be available up-front and Sherwood could do with a little more support.
