North Londoners willing to offer £5 million for Lascelles.
Tottenham Hotspur are ready to bid £5 million for England youth international Jamaal Lascelles, reports the Daily Mail.
The 20-year old, lanky centre-back is also being courted by other top English sides Liverpool and Arsenal, but Spurs are set to romp ahead in the chase by firming up their interested soon.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino recognises the need to reinforce his defensive resources as he does not have adequate cover for any of the key positions in his squad, and could also lose skipper Michael Dawson to Hull City soon.
He now wants to build with young English players going forward, and Lascelles, whose reputation of being a bright future prospect precedes him, would be a good start.
Nottingham Forest meanwhile are set to play hardball over the sale of the centre-back, and could cause Spurs a problem or two in negotiations over a potential transfer.
Tottenham are also reportedly considering loaning back the youngster to Forest to help push through the deal, but it remains to be seen whether the North Londoners can pull off the move.
